NDA 38th RC members’ spouses donate solar inverter to hospital

The spouses of the members of the 38th Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), have donated a solar-powered inverter system to the academy’s maternity ward in Ribadu cantonment.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the donation was made under the auspices of an association, ‘Unique Ladies’.

Speaking at the event on Saturday at the NDA hospital in Ribadu Cantonment, Kaduna, the Chairperson of the association, Mrs Hauwa-Kulu Pani, said the donation was a tribute to the 38th anniversary of their spouses.

She stated that it was also a testament to the enduring spirit of community and support that defines their association.

Reflecting on the journey of the past 38 years, Pani said it was clear that the unique ladies’ strength lies in the bonds they share and the collective commitment in making a difference in the lives of others.

She emphasised that the project symbolised more than just a donation, adding it represented their unwavering dedication to improving the quality of healthcare and ensurig a brighter future for those in need.

“The maternity ward of the NDA hospital holds a special place in our hearts.

”It is a place where new beginnings are celebrated, where hope
and resilience come together, and where countless families find comfort and care.

“By providing a reliable and sustainable source of power, we are contributing to a safer and more efficient environment.

”This is for both the patients and the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to ensure the well=being of the mothers and newborns,”Pani said.

Speaking further, the chairperson said, solar energy was not just a choice for them, but a commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development.

She explained that by harnessing the power of the sun, they were also reducing carbon footprints and supporting the global efforts to combat climate change.

Pani hoped that the initiative would serve as an inspiration for others to embrace renewable energy solutions and work towards a more sustainable future.
She thanked the unique ladies for their support and generosity in making the project possible.

Pani also thanked the staff and leadership of the NDA hospital for their partnership and for allowing them to be part of their incredible mission.

“Your commitment to providing exceptional care and support to the military community is truly inspiring. We are honored to contribute to your efforts,”she said.

Earlier Dr Ejindu Emeka , Consultant, O&G, HOD O&G Unit/Maternity Centre, NDA Hospital, appreciated the good gesture , saying it would reduce mortality and morbidity .

He said that initially power was a challenge with facilities that would enhance their operations.

Also, the acting Commander, NDA Hospital, Col. Olayenka Ojo, commended the efforts of the 38 unique ladies for donating the inverter .
