Gov Uba Sani commits to supporting corps members fulfill statutory obligations

Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna state, has restated his administration’s commitment towards supporting corps members to fulfill their statutory obligations to the scheme.

Sani made the commitment at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ stream 1 orientation course, on Tuesday in Kaduna.

Represented by the State Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, he pledged to provide the corps members a peaceful atmosphere for their optimal performance.

Sani reminded the corps members that their deployment to Kaduna was the beginning of their contributions towards national development under the auspices of the NYSC.

He, therefore, enjoined them to position themselves as agents of change, national integration and rapid socio-economic development.

Sani further urged them to build bridges of friendship and establish meaningful relationships across their origins, religions and socio-cultural backgrounds.

In addition, the governor tasked the corps members on living peacefully with their colleagues throughout the three -week orientation course.

Furthermore, Sani urged them to pay special attention to all the orientation course programmes and avoid flouting the NYSC rules and regulations.

Earlier, in his address, the State Coordinator, NYSC, Mr Hassan Taura, said a total of 1,550 corps members have been registered, with 707 males and 843 females respectively.

Taura, informed the corps members that the orientation camp was  highly regimented, where all the programmes were compulsory.

He explained that the programmes were designed by the NYSC management to equip them with vital information, leadership and the entrepreneurial skills they need to carry on with.

Taura, therefore, urged the corps members to respect all the camp officials, obey all rules and regulations, stressing that any act of indiscipline would not be condoned.

The coordinator thanked Sani for his unwavering support to the NYSC scheme. (NAN)
