A high-level delegation led by Executive Director Yusha’u Muhammad Abubakar from e-CAPH, paid a significant advocacy visit to the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Development Board.
The visit was focused on elevating the discourse around adolescent sexual and reproductive health.
Objectives of the meeting was; Strengthening and renewing collaboration with the board, unveiling the “LAFIYAR IYALI” project and its comprehensive implementation plan and presenting an update on the UNFPA-funded Adolescent project in the state, while urging the establishment of Rights-Based Adolescent Friendly Service Centers to eliminate any prejudiced treatment of unmarried adolescents and young individuals by healthcare providers.
Key highlights of the visit featured, a compelling presentation by Mr. Yusha’u on e-CAPH’s recent groundbreaking initiative, which engaged 80 Adolescents and Young People in Igabi and Chikun Local Government Areas.
It also involved the empowerment of 50 young women through skill acquisition, enabling them to achieve financial independence and serve as ambassadors against Female Genital Mutilation in Igabi.
The Executive Secretary extended a warm welcome to the e-CAPH team, acknowledging their dedication and congratulating them on their remarkable achievements.
He underscored the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Development Board’s unwavering commitment to fostering programs that cater to the needs of adolescents and young people.
He also recognized e-CAPH’s pivotal role in addressing maternal mortality and underscored the importance of the “LAFIYAR IYALI” Project, which strives to enhance delivery services for pregnant women within healthcare facilities.
The
visit is a milestone in advocating for the comprehensive implementation of rights-based adolescent sexual and reproductive health services in Kaduna State.
