NGO Sensitises Women on Gender-based Violence

A Kaduna based non governmental organization Hushai-Mai Global Consult Services (HUSHGLO Consult) has organised a sensitation workshop to women, traditional rulers and religious leaders to bring end of violence against women, boys and girl’s in the society.
According to the Organisation the sensitation workshop was to build solidarity, accountability, and commitment to Ending Violence Against Women, boys and Girls.

The founder of HUSHGLO Consult, Gideon Ali Mai Samari stated this in an interview with journalists shortly after the opening ceremony of the workshop held at 17 hotel Kaduna.

According to him, promoting women’s rights in the society will enable them realise their potentials in the society.

Mr. Gideon noted that Gender-based violence affects women, men, boys and girls irrespective of their race, ethnicity, class, age, economic or educational status, religious or cultural divide.

He said the programme aimed at reducing the prevalence and incidences of gender-based violence and other public safety concerns that could arise in communities across Kaduna state, which will impact on women negatively.

Mr. Gideo, explained that the key objective of the work jointly not just with the stakeholders to address the menace, but also traditional and religious leaders.

He said Decreasing violence against women and girls requires a community-based, multi-pronged approach, and sustained engagement with multiple stakeholders.
