Senate

Kaduna, June 11, 2023(NAN) A group, APC Voice of Progressive Youths, has alleged marginalisation of the North Central in the 10th senate zoning arrangements by the APC and its national working committee, while urging President Bola Tinubu and the party for a review.
The National Coordinator of the group, Abubakar Bagwai, made the call while addressing newsmen on Sunday in Kaduna.
He said that
the North Central that performed excellently by delivering four states to the APC (Niger,
Kogi, Kwara and Benue states) out of the six states in the zone at the 2023
presidential election, were excluded from positions in the 10th National Assembly arrangement.
“There is no wisdom and logic in rewarding failure while overlooking
hard work, loyalty, and performance, there’s need to be tactical in sharing the 10th National Assembly leadership position,”he said.
Bagwai added that national unity, inclusiveness, justice,
and fairness are very important and should be considered, noting that composition of the National Assembly without the North Central would be serious miscalculation and political blunder for both the government and the APC.
He also noted the need for a tested and trusted Senator from the North Central to occupy the position of Deputy Senate President, adding that Sen. Sani Musa (Niger East), would make a better candidate.
The National Coordinator advised President Bola Tinubu to use his political skills and dexterity to balance the equation by including the North Central in leadership positions in the 10th National Assembly.
He also urged President Tinubu to ensure that
no zone is left out in the sharing of position in the 10th National Assembly.
He called on the Senators-elect
to support and vote for Sen. Sani Musa (Niger East) from North Central for Deputy Senate President, to ensure fairness, justice, inclusiveness, and national unity.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
