A Northern group, Concerned Northern Forum (CNF) has on Thursday felicitated with Prof. Imam Yahuza Sulaiman on his appointment as the Registrar/CEO of the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS).
The felicitation was contained in a statement by the Spokesperson of CNF, Abdulsalam Kazeem, and issued to newsmen on Thursday in Kaduna.
Kazeem noted that Prof. Sulaiman’s appointment was a testament to his hard work, dedication, and exceptional leadership qualities.
“He is indeed a round peg in a round hole,”he said.
He added that Prof. Sulaiman, being a seasoned Islamic scholar and administrator would bring his experience of more than 20 years in teaching and research as well as pious religious observances according to the Sunnah, to the Board.
Kazeem further said that with Prof. Sulaiman’s wealth of experience, it would not take long before Islam will become the dominant religion not just in Nigeria but the entire West African Sub-region.
The Spokes person also commended the former President, Mohammadu Buhari for appointing a highly qualified and experienced individual in person of Prof. Sulaiman to lead the Board.
“We believe that Prof Sulaiman’s wealth of experience and expertise in academia and administration will enable him to steer the NBAIS to greater heights.
“We believe that with his leadership and the support of all stakeholders, the NBAIS will continue to thrive in its mandate to promote the study of Arabic and Islamic Studies in Nigeria,”he added.
Kazeem urged Prof Sulaiman to build on the solid foundation and achievements of the former Registrar, Prof Shafiu.
He wished Prof. Sulaiman a successful tenure as the Registrar of the NBAIS, while being optimistic and confident that under his leadership, the NBAIS would continue to promote the study of Arabic and Islamic Studies in Nigeria.
Kazeem also appealed to all stakeholders, including members of the NBAIS staff, to give Prof Sulaiman all the necessary support needed to make him succeed in his new role.
“It is our believe that if given the support of stakeholders, the new Registrar will surpass level of infrastructural development recorded by his predecessors as so much needs to be done both at National Headquarters and all Zonal offices of the Board,”Kazeem said.(NAN)
