The Tiv Youth Peace Initiative, has felicitated with Sen. George Akume, on his appointment by President Bola Tinubu as the Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF).
This was contained in a statement to newsmen on Saturday in Kaduna by the National President of the group, Mr. Terna Anakaa.
Describing Akume’s appointment as a stich in time, Anakaa said the present situation of Nigeria, needed a national figure and a unifier that would attract the confidence of Nigerians and neutralise tensions arising from the Muslim Muslim leadership.
Mentioning a few of Akume’s political antecedents which included being a
former Governor of Benue State and immediate past Minister of Special Duties, he noted that the SGF is capable of executing the job in perfection.
The National President further said that Akume, who served as a Senator representing Benue North-West Senatorial District from 2007 to 2019, is prepared for the task ahead and would deliver beyond expectations.
“Also in the red chamber, being the minority leader and chairman senate committee on Army, Akume is no doubt going to perform to the credence and success of the incumbent administration,”Anakaa said.
He commended the foresight and visionary leadership of President Bola Tinubu for trusting Senator Akume with a sensitive position, while assuring him of the Tivs support in possible ways to ensure he delivers on the mandate and make the country proud.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
