The State Coordinator of NYSC in Kaduna, Mr Hassan Taura, has tasked corps members on hard work and resilience, as they are been posted to their various Places of Primary Assignments (PPAs) within the state.
Taura made the call at the closing ceremony of the 2023 Batch ‘A’ stream II orientation course, on Tuesday in Kaduna.
Reminding the corps members on the feats the scheme achieved on May 22, where it celebrated its golden jubilee, he urged them to sustain the spirit of patriotism which it promoted in the last five decades.
The Coordinator further urged them to be guided by the provisions of the NYSC Act and Bye-Laws, as well the rules and regulations of their PPAs.
“You should avoid acts that can endanger your lives such as staying out late, attending night parties, visitation of dangerous places. be good ambassadors of the NYSC as well as your families at all times.
“Be wary of acts that can portray the scheme in bad light. Avoid using the social media for ethnic jingoism, rumour peddling and promotion of animosity.
“Your activities online should be targeted at self-improvement as well as promotion of the unity, peace and development of our dear country, Nigeria,”he urged.
Taura reiterated warning against unauthorised journeys and night trips, while urging them to always board vehicles only at approved motor parks so as to avoid falling into the hands of criminals.
He appeal to corps employers to always accept corps members posted to them and make necessary provisions for their welfare, while also urging them to mentor them properly to enable them develop their potentials.
Taura, who was also the reviewing Officer at the closing ceremony parade, commended the corps members for active participation in all camp activities and high level of discipline they demonstrated.
He thanked the Kaduna State Government, all the collaborating agencies and other corporate organisations for supporting the scheme in various ways in the state.
