Following a press release conveyed and signed by Special Adviser Media and Publicity to the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Mohammed Bello on the 15th January, 2023, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs along with other new Ministries are established in the state.
The Founder and Chairman Board of Trustees ASATTAHIR International Foundation Aliyu Sidi Attahiru has on behalf of the Foundation applauded His Excellency the Executive Governor Sokoto state, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for his foresight in creating a maiden Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and appointing Commissioner to man the Ministry among five others which had their commissioners reassigned.
The Founder ASATTAHIR International Foundation stated that this didn’t come as a surprise considering the numerous efforts Sokoto state Government had made to improve the lives of its people. He recalled that in 2021 Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal’s assent to the Child Protection Bill into law birthed the Child Rights Act thereby making it a law and punishable offense to violate the fundamental rights of children in the state.
The Founder stated that ASATTAHIR International Foundation as one of the leading organizations responding to the humanitarian needs of the people through nutrition, shelter, advocacy disaster risk management and research, expressed confidence that this addition to the state will foster effective collaboration and enhance synergy between local and international humanitarian organizations and the state government in responding to the humanitarian needs of the people swiftly and effectively.
The Founder congratulates the newly appointed Commissioner Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Dange whose appointment takes effect immediately, trusting that that his well deserved appointment will steer the Ministry and the people of Sokoto to the right direction.
