Nigeria Immigration unveils enhanced electronic passport Production Centre for Kano, Katsina And Jigawa

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has launched an enhanced electronic passport facility for Kano, Katsina, jigawa and Dawakin Kudu.
The Comptroller General of Immigration Service CGI Isah Idris Jere, unveiled the centre on Wednesday at Farm Centre Passport office in Kano state.
CGI Jere who was represented by the Asistant Comptroller General Of Immigration in charge of Passport standard ACGI Sa’adat Hassan, said the enhanced ePassport was the latest technology.
According to him applicants no longer need the services of third parties to obtain passports.
“It is so easy to apply online. Applicants will only be required to go to the selected Passport Office on the appointment date for enrolment”, he said.
Jere noted that this would eliminate passport racketeering, touting and clumsy processes.
He urged applicants to visit the NIS Passport portal via passport.immigration.gov.ng to apply, complete the form, pay online and get an appointment.
Also speaking, the ACGI Incharrge of Zone “B” Hajiya Zainab Lawal, laud the Passport Control Officer of Farm Centre Passport office DCI Sule Ibrahim for his commitment for smooth running of enhancing e-passport in Kano state.
In his welcome address the Comptroller Immigration service kano state Command CIS Mustapha Ahmad said Kano state command has is enjoying series of development projects from the service such as the one being commissioned in Kano.
According to him Kano state command have privilege to have the gigantic project In the command.
He therefore commended the efforts of the CGI for physical transformation of immigration service.
In his speech Kano state Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, expressed satisfaction on the enhancing e- passport in the state.
Ganduje who was represented by Commissioner of Budget Alhaji Dan Azumi Gwarzo, said kano state being the commercial Centre of the Northern Nigeria, wil benefits from the facility.adding that kano state has the highest passport seekers in Nigeria.
